Huawei’s sub brand has launched a new budget in . The Honor V9 Play has been launched in two variants – 3GB RAM version is priced at CNY 999 (Rs. 9,800 approx), and the 4GB RAM version is priced at CNY 1,199 (Rs. 11,700 approx). The device will be available for purchase from September 12 in Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Blue and Black colour options.

The design of the is very sleek; it sports a full metal uni body design with a finger print scanner on the back underneath the setup. There are antenna lines on the top and bottom, on the front there are thin bezel on the left and right side of the smartphone. The fingerprint scanner claims to unlock the smartphone in just 0.4 seconds.

Coming on specifications, the Honor V9 play runs on EMUI 5.1 based on operating system and sports a 5.2” HD (720×1280 pixels) display protected with 2.5D curved glass on top and offers 65 percent NTSC colour gamut. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC coupled with Mali T860 GPU. It offers 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

As for the camera, the Honor V9 play offers a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron pixel size, PDAF, 5P lens, and LED flash support for better low light capturing. On the front, there is an 8MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The Honor V9 Play is fueled by a 3000mAh battery that is rated to offer 16 hours of talk time and 15 days of standby time. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, , GPS, GLONASS, Micro USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, v4.1, and 802.11 b/g/n. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light, digital compass, and proximity sensor. The device measures 147.9 x 73.2 x 76.5 mm and weighs 145 grams.
