The landed in back in June this year, and it went on sale later that month. The device was earlier available only in Blue and Silver color variant. That changes now, as the Solar Red variant has been officially made available.

The new color variant is currently on pre-order, with shipments scheduled for August 26. The Taiwanese company also offering a free 20W car charger with the Solar Red U11. Pricing is same as other color variants: INR 51,990.

To recall, The U11 comes with one of a kind edge sense , a new way of interacting with , users can squeeze from the edges and perform certain commands and functions. The squeeze can be customised to open an email app or a game, open the app, take a picture, and activate any of the voice assistants. These ‘squeeze’ gesture can be customized by the user for whatever action they prefer. It can also use a “short squeeze” as well as a “squeeze and hold” for more functionality by activating the advanced touce mode. HTC’s Edge Sense can be used even with gloves on.

Other notable features of the HTC U11 include an IP67 rating that will protect the from water and dust, HTC Sense Companion and Assistant, 3D audio recording with four microphones, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, and a fingerprint sensor embedded inside the home button.

In terms of design, HTC U11 continues with the 3D Liquid Surface design we saw on the HTC U Ultra Play.The overall finish is glossy, which did make the earlier HTC U Ultra a little slippery. The dimensions of the HTC U11 are 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9mm.

As far as specification is concern, the HTC U11 offerse most of the high-end specs you would expect in 2017. The HTC U11 runs on 7.1 Nougat operating system with the HTC Sense skin on top. The phone sports a 5.5” Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The phone is powered by a 2.45GHz quad-core SoC. It offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.

In terms of photography, The HTC U11 features a 12MP rear camera with the company’s UltraPixel 3 one. It has 1.4μm pixel size, UltraSpeed Autofocus, BSI sensor and OIS, ƒ/1.7 aperture, Dual-LED flash, slow motion and 4K video recording. It also features pro mode with manual control, 32-second long exposure, and RAW format support, HDR Boost, Panorama, and Hyperlapse. On the front end, there is a 16-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, 1080p video recording, it features live make-up, auto Selfie, voice selfie, HDR Boost, and Selfie Panorama options. The company claims that the HTC U11 achieved that highest ever rating for a smartphone camera by independent metric DxOMark1 with a score of 90.

The HTC U11 is powered by a 3000mAh battery which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. and it is claim to deliver up to 24.5 hours of talk time, and 14 days of standby time. It also comes with an extreme power saving mode. Connectivity options for the HTC U11 include GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, USB 3.1 Type-C port, 4.2, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), and NFC support. HTC U11 has ditched the standard 3.5-mm audio jack. Sensors on the HTC U11 are Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor Motion G-sensor, Compass sensor, Gyro sensor, Magnetic sensor, Fingerprint sensor, Sensor Hub, Edge Sensor.
