The Xiaomi Mi 5X comes in Gold, Black and Rose Gold colour variants and will be available for sale in China at 10am on August 1 registrations for the first sale are already open and goes over 800,000.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X sports all metal unibody design with rounded edges and anti-fingerprint coating. On the back there is a dual rear camera setup which looks like iPhone 7 plus, including the antenna bands pushed to the edges. Mi 5X is the first phone runs on MIUI 9 which brings lots of performance improvement like Xiaomi’s Smart Assistant, built-in Image Search, a new file system and much more.
Now lets quickly jump on to the technical specifications, as mentioned above the Xiaomi Mi 5X runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and sports a 5.5” full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) LTPS curved glass display with brightness up to 450 nits. The smartphone is powered by a 2 GHz 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a dual camera setup with the combination of 12MP wide-angle with 1.25-micron pixel sensor and f/2.2 aperture along with another 12MP telephoto with 1-micron pixel sensor and f/2.6 aperture (similar to Mi 6). It comes with features like Portrait Mode for bokeh effects. On the front, it features a 5MP camera with real-time beautification mode.
Connectivity options of Xiaomi Mi 5X include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. The smartphone is powered by a 3080mAh battery which sounds decent enough given the efficient chipset. The device measures 155.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 165 grams.
