The anticipation for a new BioShock game has been building for over a decade, since the last release in 2013. The recent tease from the 2K team has only heightened this excitement. While an official announcement is still pending, the developers have posted a series of job listings for the upcoming BioShock game.
Spotted by VGC, developer Cloud Chambers, who is working on the next entry of the BioShock series, is “recruiting like made-for-game developers.” These listings are for two locations: the San Francisco Bay Area (Novato, CA) and Montreal, Quebec. The job listings cover a wide range of roles, including producers, senior writers, senior character arts, and much more, indicating that the game is in the early stages of development and the team is expanding to bring the project to life.
Recently, a user inquired to 2K about the 11th anniversary of BioShock and the possibility of a new instalment. 2K’s response, a chef emoji, seemed to imply that they were indeed “cooking up” something. While we await an official announcement, we do know that Ken Levine, the creator of the original BioShock series, is working on a first-person shooter adventure called Judas. This game is said to draw heavily from the BioShock series.
