Matthew Wade is the latest Australian to test positive in the T20 World Cup.

Wade – who is the only wicket-keeper in the Australian squad – tested positive on Wednesday night.

He is displaying only minor symptoms and is still expected to line up to face England on Friday night.

Glenn Maxwell was spotted doing keeping drills during a training session on Thursday morning, although skipper Aaron Finch has previously indicated David Warner would likely be the one to stand in behind the stumps should Wade be unfit.

Adam Zampa tested positive last week and missed the Australian’s win against Sri Lanka.

The team will now need to work quickly to ensure the virus doesn’t spread further through the squad.

Australia’s clash between England looms as a must-win for both sides, particularly after England was stunned by Ireland in a rain-hit contest on Tuesday night.

Rain has thrown Group 1 wide open after New Zealand was also forced to share its points with Afghanistan after the contest was abandoned due to the weather.
