Advanced Warfare Sequel in Development at Sledgehammer Games Rumors Debunked

0

Last month, it was reported that Sledgehammar Games might return to Advanced Warfare for its next title in the Call of Duty series.

The sequel to the futuristic Call of Duty title had fans buzzing, as the franchise had stuck to modern or past timelines for the titles following the release of Black Ops 4 in 2018.

However, these rumors seem to be untrue, as noted by the sources at Insider Gaming. The publication further revealed that the development of the next Sledgehammer title is in early stages, with not many details that have been ironed out yet.

When rumors broke out last month, Call of Duty insiders CharlieINTEL had also stated that the rumors of Advanced Warfare 2 in 2025 were “unverified”. Furthermore, it had also been mentioned that Treyarch’s 2024 Call of Duty title might receive a two-year cycle like Modern Warfare 2, which released last week.

While the chances of the next Sledgehammer Call of Duty title to be Advanced Warfare 2 appears to be slim, Inside Gaming has also pointed out rumors about the title taking place in the future. However, presently, these leaks haven’t been verified yet.

Overall, it seems like it will be a while before we receive concrete information about the next game from the developers at Sledgehammer
