Sony launched the PlayStation 5 console in India in 2021. The company has recently increased the price of the PS5 consoles in multiple markets including — India, Europe, the UK, Japan, and more. Sony has cited increasing global inflation rates and unfavourable currency trends as the reasons for the price hike. Now, a new report suggests that the company is planning to unveil a slimmer version of the console next year. According to a report by The Leak, Sony may launch the PS5 Slim gaming device in Q3 2023. The report also adds that the upcoming console will be a slimmer version of the original console, but the device won’t carry the word slim on its name.

As per the report, the upcoming device will not only be lighter than the original console but might also come with an improved design. With this console, Sony is also developing a new solution which won’t require a stand when the device is placed horizontally.

Earlier rumours also claimed that the company is working on a new PS5 model that will come with a removal disc drive. The upcoming device might be the one that will reportedly arrive in 2023.
Sony launched the PlayStation 5 console almost two years ago but some probable buyers are still facing shortage problems which didn’t allow them to get their hands on the company’s latest console. However, the stock availability of the gaming device has improved since its launch.

The latest PlayStation 5 console sports a new dual-tone Black and White design and features Blue LED lights around the air vents. Sony has already confirmed that the console will be powered by AMD Zen 2-based processors coupled with 16GB DDR6 RAM and a custom 825GB SSD for faster loading speed.
