The Bulldogs have released outside back Aaron Schoupp from the final two years of his contract to take a deal up with the Titans.

The 21-year-old made his NRL debut in 2021, scoring nine tries in 32 games for the club.

Schoupp looked set to be in the mix to be along-term centre at Belmore, re-signing until the end of 2024, but will head to the Gold Coast despite having two years to run on his contract.

“Centre Aaron Schoupp has been granted a release from his contract with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs effective immediately,” the club said in a statement.

“Contracted to the end of 2024, Schoupp had been named in the club’s top 30 squad for 2023 but has since requested a release to take up an opportunity at another NRL club.

“Schoupp has been a positive contributor to the Bulldogs club both on and off the field and we would like to thank him for his hard work and passion during his time at Belmore.

“We wish Aaron and his family all the best for this next chapter in his career.”

Schoupp joins new recruits Kieran Foran and Sam Verrills at the Gold Coast next year.

His departure from Canterbury will likely open the door for exciting teenage star Paul Alamoti under new coach Cameron Ciraldo.
