Tata Open Maharashtra: Marin Cilic cruises into quarter-finals

Top seed Marin Cilic unleashed his power-packed game to move into the singles quarter-finals of the Tata Open Maharashtra as the World No. 17 beat Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the Balewadi Stadium  on Wednesday.

Last year’s runner-up and third seed Emil Ruusuvuori was knocked out by Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi 6-1, 7-6 (4) in his opening round.

Another top player biting the dust was fourth seed Argentine Sebastian Baez, who lost 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 to Spain’s Pedro Martinez.
