Inox Unveils AmpliX Premium Sound Format for the First Time at Its Flagship Megaplex for a 360 Degree Spherical Sound Experience

Indian multiplex chain Inox has unveiled its latest improvement in the world of sound for its multiplex screens across the country.

The popular chain has debuted the AmpliX, a new premium sound format that audiences can experience at Inox Megaplex at Inorbit Mall Malad, Mumbai. The seat-integrated technology allows for a “360-degree spherical audio experience on cinema seats.”

So, how does AmpliX work? The next-generation format provides a surround field, which is achieved during using “binaural technology for an immersive movie-watching experience.”

And you must be asking what be benefit this new technology provides? For starters, with Amplix, viewers receive “a 3D audio effect from the seats, which stimulates the mechanoreceptors in the patrons’ body and creates a lively and natural audio feel.”

Moreover, the technology also comes with an algorithm, which syncs the on-screen audio, so you’re never missing a beat while watching your favourite films. Thanks to the sound emerging out of seats, audiences will have an audio experience unlike no other, which makes your moviegoing adventure an even more immersive affair.

Following its launch, Inox Leisure Ltd CEO Anuj Tandon said, “As we usher yet another ground-breaking tech- intervention, we have proudly paved the way for more such tech-enabled experiences in the future, which would continue to advance and upscale the cinema viewing experience.” Tandon further revealed that the chain has plans to integrate the technology into many of Inox’s other theatres. “We plan to offer the AmpliX experience in our upcoming cinemas in India.”
