After a difficult start to the season, the NSW Waratahs have received some much needed good news with flanker Charlie Gamble re-signing until the end of 2024.
The 26-year-old New Zealand product is now knocking on the door of Wallabies selection, impressing in the 23 Super Rugby caps he’s earned since 2021.
Gamble was a member of the Crusaders academy before moving to Sydney and initially playing club rugby for Petersham and Eastern Suburbs.

He was named Waratahs forward of the year in 2022.
“I’m really excited to be re-signing with the Waratahs, they provided me with the opportunity to play Super Rugby and I’ll always be extremely grateful for that,” Gamble said.
“I love living in Sydney, I love NSW, and I love the Waratahs. Things are building nicely here, and I honestly believe we can do something special with the squad we have.

“The coaching staff, players, and facilities are all first class, and it was a really easy decision for me in the end.”
The 1-2 Waratahs will travel to Wellington to take on the 2-1 Hurricanes on Friday, with Gamble expected to be a key figure in combating a backrow led by Ardie Savea.
“Charlie is a talented and hardworking player, and we’re thrilled he’s going to continue to be a Waratah,” NSW coach Darren Coleman said.

“He was one of the standouts, not just for the Waratahs, but in the whole Super Rugby Pacific competition last season and a big part of our turnaround.
“His dedication and work ethic is second to none, and with our future in mind, he is a huge signing for the team.”
