“As a result, some mail posted in the South West of England, due for delivery in parts of the South East, Midlands, North East, North West of England and parts of Scotland may arrive later than planned.”

In the latest update this morning, Royal Mail shared that deliveries are operating as normal, with the service aiming to deliver to all addresses they have mail for six days a week.

However, it explained that due to local factors including sick absences and resourcing, this may be “temporarily not possible”.

Royal Mail explained it would mitigate this by rotating deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers and provide targeted support to those offices.
