Survivor Will Reportedly Precompile Shaders On PC

0

As many high-profile games released in the past few months launched on PC with a variety of critical issues, including stuttering issues caused by shader compilation, it is not yet clear if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the second entry in the series developed by Respawn launching later this month on PC and consoles, will suffer from them as well, but it seems like the developer is taking steps to keep them to a minimum.

As revealed by RPG Site’s Theswweet on the ResetERA forums, they asked the developer about the PC version of the game during a recent preview event which we also attended, receiving confirmation that it will precompile shaders. While this may not be enough to eliminate stuttering completely, it is still nice to know that Respawn is attempting to reduce the issue as much as possible.

While it is still too early to learn how the PC version of the game will run, it’s clear that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a much bigger game than its predecessor, expanding its features in plenty of interesting ways. Combat, for example, has been made more complex and involving, with five different combat stances, each with an individual tree, that will finally give players more tools to play with and eliminate Cal’s enemies. Exploration and traversal have seen a massive increase in scope as well. You can learn more about the game by checking out Kai’s preview.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on April 28th on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. Head over here to learn everything there is to know about Cal Kestis’ next adventure.
