Arnold Schwarzenegger, 75, found a way to give back to the community as he took the initiative to fill a pothole in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood star proved his talents are not limited to acting in a new video that shows him fixing the road.

He took to Twitter on Tuesday to upload the clip and explain that the pothole had been an issue for weeks until he decided to “do something about it”.

Arnold captioned the video: “Today, after the whole neighbourhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it.

“I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go.”

The footage shows the Terminator star with tools in hand, using gravel to fill up the pothole along with other men.

One woman could be seen stopping by in her car to thank the group, while Arnold said: “You’re welcome.

“You have to do it yourself. I mean, this is crazy. For three weeks I’ve been waiting for this hole to be closed.”

Arnold, who served as the 38th governor of California between 2003 and 2011, was inundated with praise as fans replied to the tweet to share their reactions.

@MarkRHall said: “Absolutely correct! Action is always better than reaction! Would have loved to had more like you in my town when I was the Mayor. Good work sir. #BeTheDifference”

While @PopcastGuys added: “Arnie, with this work ethic, we’d like you to come back and be governor again. Do you have a patch for all of California?”

@RMatthews216 typed: “You’re still more of a Governor than the existing Governor.”

@P1kles_official wrote: “I like the concept, and i’m proud that you took time out of your day to help others.

“That being said, isn’t this one of the main reasons we pay taxes? To support critical infrastructure? Where are the tax dollars going if not to the very things they are meant to support?”
