The Adelaide Strikers’ Matthew Kelly was this morning involved in a scary moment in the field when he tried to stop the ball sailing over the boundary for six.
Fielding at deep mid-wicket in the eighth over in a match against the Perth Scorchers, Kelly was about to leap when he tripped over the boundary and clutched his left ankle immediately.
The youngster sat in the front row at Adelaide Oval as he received medical attention and the Strikers replaced him with a substitute fielder.

But fortunately for Kelly and the Strikers he was back in the field from the start of the 10th over.
“Straight away he knew he was in a little bit of trouble,” said Mel Jones on the Fox Cricket broadcast.
The Strikers won the match by six wickets, chasing the Scorchers’ 127 in 17 overs.
First drop Ian Cockbain top-scored in an unbeaten innings of 35 from 24 balls.
