Shark Tank contestant Andy Thomas has tragically died at the age of 47. Andy was battling cancer before his death.

Shark Tank paid tribute to the former contestant, who became popular with viewers after his energetic presentation earned him a $30,000 deal from investor Lori Greiner.

Lori shared the sad news during Friday’s episode of Shark Tank and also took to Twitter to honour Andy.

“In Memory of Andrew Thomas Loving husband and father, fearless Marine, dearest of friends. Kettle Gryp Co-Founder,” she wrote in view of her 1.8 million followers.

“Here’s to you, Andrew! A true American hero, beloved husband, father & friend to so many. Ur hard work & dedication to @KettleGryp & your partner Daniel will live on.

“Happy to be partners & to help fulfill ur legacy w/ Kettle Gryp.”

His wife Carolyn Walz also confirmed he died in December in a Facebook post this week, as she asked friends to watch the Shark Tank episode in which he was honoured.

Walz wrote: “If you’re so inclined, tune into Shark Tank at 8 pm on ABC this Friday. 

“My husband, Andy, and his business partner, Dan, will appear as they try to convince the sharks to invest in the Kettle Gryp.

 

Andy and Daniel pitched the workout equipment as a portable device for gym enthusiasts who travel frequently.

Andy’s positive and upbeat attitude during the pitch caught the eye of Lori, who offered them a $30,000 deal for the product.

Shark Tank is the American version of Dragon’s Den.
