Death In Paradise’s Ralf Little, 42, has expressed his fury at people who do not cover their mouths when coughing. The actor, who plays Neville Parker in the BBC drama, became irate when he travelled on a train and began to feel frustrated by “impolite” passengers around him.

Ralf took his frustrations to Twitter, telling his 276,000 followers: “You know what, I’ve not been one of those pandemic people who gets all paranoid if someone coughs near me.

“But… to all people currently on my train carriage, it was polite to cover your mouth when coughing even BEFORE Covid.

“You anti-social weirdos.”

Ralf assured his fans that “of course” he was wearing a mask during his journey, but that he still felt uncomfortable about people coughing around him without covering their mouths.

The Royle Family star’s fury was shared by plenty of others who took to the comments to discuss their own experiences.

Tracie fumed: “Absolutely zero manners in the world today, no covering mouth when coughing, sneezing or yawning. The height of bad manners which are being passed down to younger generations. No hope.”

Samantha said: “I was on a train from London in August and there was a woman coughing and she was wearing a mask ON HER CHIN! I couldn’t fathom it! She got really nasty when I asked her to put her mask up – claimed she was exempt. Why wear one on your chin then!?”

And Emma quipped: “I agree. Some people simply have no manners. Probably the same people that don’t wash their hands after visiting the toilet.”

He said: “Everyone watching this at home will be playing the world’s tiniest violins for me.

“You finish work, and you can go and swim in the Caribbean Sea, it’s a dream job.

“But it’s still a job, I just happen to be lucky to be doing a job that I really enjoy.

“It’s tough at times but I wouldn’t change it.”

He also hinted that Neville may not return for another series of the crime drama.

Although his exit has not been confirmed by show bosses, Ralf remarked: “It’s just I have filmed the series that I was originally contracted to do.

“But there’s no indication that they don’t want me to go back, it hasn’t been agreed yet… It’s all still being discussed.”

Death in Paradise returns on Friday at 9pm on BBC One.
