Canterbury football boss Phil Gould revealed to Nine’s Sunday Footy Show that key Bulldogs recruit Tevita Pangai Jr will miss today’s clash with North Queensland.
Gould said he received a text message this morning informing him Pangai Jr has been withdrawn from the game due to injury.
He had been named to line up in the second row against the Cowboys. Corey Waddell is likely to be promoted off the bench to start in his place.
Pangai Jr wore Bulldogs colours for the first time in a trial game against the Sharks a fortnight ago. He was sin-binned and reported for swinging punches at rival forward Royce Hunt.
The Bulldogs will debut fellow recruits Matt Burton, Josh Addo-Carr, Matt Dufty, Brent Naden, and Paul Vaughan today.
