OnePlus is set to announce the next Nord smartphone, the Nord 2T, on May 19. OnePlus today officially revealed some key details about the upcoming smartphone. Earlier, the company confirmed that the Nord 2T would feature 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Now, the company has revealed the chipset under the hood.
In the latest teaser, OnePlus confirmed that the Dimensity 1300 chipset will power the Nord 2T, and it would be the first smartphone to come with the Dimensity 1300.
The Dimensity 1300 is a successor to the Dimensity 1200, the chipset found inside the Nord 2. The chipset is fabbed on TSMC’s 6nm process node. It features a 4x Cortex-A78 core clocked at 3.0GHz, one of them being clocked at 3.0GHz while the other three runs at 2.6GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It further features a 9-core Mali G77 MC9 GPU. We don’t know how better it is compared to the Dimensity 1200, but we expect some substantial improvements.
As confirmed earlier by OnePlus, the Nord 2T will come with 80W charging support. However, we did not get a word on its battery capacity, but rumours suggest that it could come with a 4500mAh battery.
As far as other specifications are concerned, the Nord 2T might feature a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. And it would come with a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP IMX766 primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP tertiary unit. The smartphone is rumoured to have a 32MP IMX615 sensor on the front for selfies. Also, it would come in two storage variants having 8GB and 12GB of RAM.
OnePlus will be sharing more details about the Nord 2T in the coming days until it gives us the pricing of the smartphone on May 19.
