Late Thursday night, Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to express his support for his family as they attended the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The thespian captioned photos of his son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, and granddaughter Aaradhya as, “Putr, bahu, poti.”
Aishwarya has been a regular at Cannes since 2002. Abhishek and Aaradhya are also accompanying her this time.
Amitabh Bachchan shared a photo of Abhishek in a sharp black tuxedo with a white shirt and a bow-tie, Aishwarya in a shimmery pink evening gown, and Aaradhya in a pretty red dress with a matching hairband.
Senior Bachchan’s fans and followers showered comments on his post as soon as he shared it on Instagram. “Progress report,” Abhishek wrote in response to his father’s post. A fan requested that Amitabh attend Cannes as well, writing, “Sir Aap bhi jayein udhar kabhi. Wo function ki shobha badh jayegi Bachchan Sahab.” Another fan commented, “Beautiful family .”
Six Indian films will be screened at Marche du Cinema this year. R. Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Nikhil Mahajan’s Godavari, Shankar Shrikumar’s Alpha Beta Gamma, and Biswajeet Bora’s Boomba Ride are among them.
The India Pavilion at the 75th Cannes Film Festival opened on Wednesday with folk songs and dance. This year’s Indian contingent includes Deepika Padukone, who is on the jury, as well as AR Rahman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pooja Hegde, Ricky Kej, Shekhar Kapur, Tammanaah Bhatia, Hina Khan, and Urvashi Rautela.
