Fallout New Vegas mod instantly nukes NPCs wishing for a nuclear winter

“Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter” – say no more

A new Fallout New Vegas mod is in town, and it’s going to be tough to see this one dethroned anytime soon.

Spotted by Twitter user eternalfloette, the mod (found here, and created by Testudini, off of a suggestion by Fallout Mods Redditor Coffeechipmunk) is appropriately titled “wishes come true – nuclear winter,” and the goal is very simple: to nuke NPCs that wish for a nuclear winter. You know how most open-world games have that one line of repeated dialogue? I’m not even going to say the Skyrim one. But for New Vegas, it’s:

“Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.”

I can just hear it in my head! NCR soldiers have uttered this phrase countless times in my playthroughs, and now you can do something about it. The mod “immediately targets the NPC with a nuclear strike,” and amazingly enough, it triggers both via dialogue initiated by the player or the NPC. Testudini makes it clear that the mod is compatible with pretty much anything that doesn’t modify that particular line of dialogue, so it’s super easy to install and try out.

As if I needed an excuse to go back to Fallout New Vegas, one of the most fun modern open-world games in the past few decades.
