A fix for that crazy iPhone 14 Pro camera shake bug is rolling out now

TL;DR

  • Apple has reportedly issued a software update for the iPhone 14 series.
  • This update fixes an iPhone 14 Pro series camera shake bug.

Apple launched the iPhone 14 series last week, but some iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max buyers almost immediately encountered a serious bug. This issue saw the main camera shake and make a rattling or grinding noise when using the camera inside third-party apps.

The Cupertino company promised a fix would be coming and it’s now indeed pushed an update out to iPhone 14 series devices. The iOS 16.0.2 update changelog specifically notes that this issue is fixed, according to GSMArena.

Needless to say, this should come as a relief to affected iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max users. Videos of the bug posted online showed the 48MP main camera shaking and making a concerning rattling noise. The bug occurred when users tried to use the camera inside apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

The issue was ostensibly due to the camera’s sensor-shift stabilization functionality not working properly inside these apps. But hopefully this is the last we hear of it now that an update is rolling out.

Either way, the iPhone 14 Pro series in particular is worth considering if you’re open to joining Apple’s ecosystem. However, there’s no shortage of iPhone 14 alternatives out there if you want to stick with Android.
