Djokovic has been out of action since Wimbledon after his unvaccinated status kept him from playing the US Open and Masters events in America and Canada. He made his return at the Laver Cup last week but has not played a standard, round-by-round tour event for more than two months.

The 35-year-old’s hopes in Tel Aviv took a hit when he struggled with a right wrist injury during his loss to Team World’s Felix Auger-Aliassime at the Laver Cup on Sunday, getting it strapped up before revealing he had been struggling with it for several days but had previously been able to control it.

But there is good news for the 21-time Grand Slam champion, as he provided an update on what he called the “mini-injury” after arriving in Tel Aviv. “I practised for almost two hours and everything was okay,” he said, per Sasa Ozmo.
