Australian tennis icon Wally Masur was emphatic when asked for a tip on Alex de Minaur’s fourth-round Wimbledon clash.

“Demon in three,” the former coach told Stan Sports’ Grand Slam Daily.

Masur gave his confident prediction despite describing de Minaur’s opponent, Cristian Garin, as a “beast”.

“Two de Minaurs would fit into a Garin. He’s a big, strong boy,” Masur said.

“But he’s a clay-courter, and he plays pretty deep into the court.

“On paper (de Minaur is a strong favourite).

“Don’t estimate (Garin). He is a player — just not going to show us his best on this surface. He plays very deep in the court, Garin, and I think this is where de Minaur, who is a very offensive baseliner, can take advantage.”
