Amanda Holden gave her thoughts on Simon Cowell’s engagement news to his longtime partner Lauren Silverman, claiming she was given a heads-up beforehand. The 50-year-old took to her Heart FM radio show to reveal that her Britain’s Got Talent boss and co-judge had sent her a text message on Tuesday evening to share the news with friends.

“It was important to Simon that the kids were there too, as he adores them both and the family they’ve become.”

The move to propose in Barbados was sentimental for the couple as they first met on the island at the Sandy Lane resort back in 2004.

Simon had been vacationing with Andrew, who decided to bring his wife along for the tropical trip, and the two appeared to have gotten along rather well.

It’s still unknown when the doting pair plan on tying the knot.
