Arlo rolls Out HomeKit Support to Pro and Pro2 Cameras

Arlo has officially started rolling out a new Firmware to Pro and Pro2 Cameras for Apple’s HomeKit. As promised, the Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro2 Cameras will be able to work with Apple’s HomeKit after the upgradation.

Once updated, the Arlo Security Cameras will appear right beside other accessories in Apple’s HomeKit. Users’ just need to launch the Home app on their respective devices and they will be able to manage the Arlo Cameras from there just like other Apple HomeKit supported smart devices.

Arlo’s Cameras will be used for live streaming and for other normal tasks such as turning on the lights etc. Apple too has updated the HomeKit with the latest iOS 13 and added a bunch of extraordinary features.

Most of the latest features will be available for the Arlo camera users. Beta testers will also get all the advanced features to try them out with their Arlo cameras.

Arlo promised during the announcement of its new Camera in the January month that they will bring support for Apple’s HomeKit to these cameras. And as promised, the latest Firmware rolled out by the company. This is indeed a bold step taken by the company.

The owners of the Arlo Base Station should see this update via their phone’s app. The application update can be accessed through an iOS device. Just launch the Apps menu and go to the App Store. There you will see an update option. Click the Update button and wait for some time. The app will be updated to its latest version and you should start using it with Apple’s HomeKit.

If we talk more about the latest iOS update, the update adds new Secure Video functionality for the users. This feature records your videos and directly upload the videos to iCloud.

Apple’s HomeKit will add support for this new iCloud upload feature to Logitech, Eufy, Netatmo, and Robin. The consumers of these brands will be able to use Apple’s new Secure Video feature very soon.
