Betty White sadly died on New Year’s Eve as her agent confirmed that the Golden Girls actress died from natural causes. The on-screen star, who died aged 99, is said to have died “peacefully at her home”.

Tributes had poured in following the news of her actress’ death.

However, the star’s agent and good friend Jeff Witjaz was forced to speak out and urged people to stop politicising her death.

It comes after rumours emerged she may have died from complications over her Covid-19 booster.

Jeff vehemently denied the claims and explained that Betty’s death was a result of natural causes.

This came as a special cinematic event was due to air to coincide with her landmark birthday.

It featured interviews from Betty’s co-stars and friends, including Ryan Reynolds and Robert Redford.

Speaking to PEOPLE in an interview published on December 19, she shared how her longevity was down to “avoiding anything green.”

Betty had said: “I think it’s working.
