Birthday Special: Deepika Padukone’s Experimental Fashion Choices Struck a Chord With Us
Deepika Padukone has always been about making those bold choices, be it in her films or in the fashion landscape. She is unafraid when it comes to experimenting and letting her guard down, for there’s no look she can’t ace. Looking back at her league of fashion outings, she has indeed raised the bar when it comes to serving unconventional looks.
Most of these looks have come from red-carpet events, one cannot forget her extravagant ensembles from the Cannes Film Festival in the years gone by. Be it her flamingo ruffles outfits in pink or the elaborate pastel green ruffles gown that she carried off with ease. There was also a moment in the sun when she went for a satin white gown, but the cherry-on-top was the massive black bow all across the upper bodice. In 2022 she served yet more larger-than-life style statements in striking gowns, one of which was a black textured bodycon gown with humongous eagle-silhouetted sleeves. the orange ruffle gown that was as elegant as ever. She’s aced the flouncy sleeves trend too when she came dressed in a parrot green co-ords set with the billowing sleeves and a matching hairband was all the rage. During the promotion of 83, she took a leaf out of The Handmaid’s Tale lookbook and went for a red top and pant set and an inverted kerchief as a head accessory.
Needless to say, she has always thought outside of the box and won over fashion critics by taking the leap.
