BOE may manufacture 15-inch OLED displays for future iPad

Chinese electronic components company, BOE, has recently converted the layout of one of its OLED panel factories to manufacture larger panels for other devices and automobiles, other than just smartphones. BOE, which also happens to be a supplier of Apple, may develop OLED displays for iPads and iMacs in this factory, reports Macrumours.
The report adds that the factory will be capable of producing OLED screens with two layers of red, green and blue emission layers that can offer future iPads with remarkably brighter displays. Although, it might get challenging for the company to successfully mass-produce these displays as the technology is quite complicated.
The reports also add that the redesigned factory will be able to manufacture up to 15-inch displays, but the Cupertino-based giant is yet to announce a 15-inch iPad. Earlier, reports claimed that Apple will be exploring the idea of iPads with bigger displays but it seems like that will be way in the future.
BOE became the supplier of iPhone 13 displays in 2021 and the report claims that the company might aim to become the supplier of OLED displays for future iPads.
Presently, the company gets its OLED displays for iPhones from Samsung and LG. Apple has often tried to widen its chain of suppliers to curtail the risk of depending on a single supplier and also to strike a bargain with competitive pricing.
