British Gas is giving energy bill grants of up to £1,500 – who is eligible? | Personal Finance | Finance

Outside of British Gas’ grant scheme, every household in the UK is entitled to the Government’s cost of living support, which includes the £400 energy bill grant.

On top of this, Prime Minister Liz Truss recently announced the new price guarantee which will cap household bills at £2,500.

Ofgem warned gas and electricity bills were expected to rise on October 1, putting further pressure on households, specifically those in debt.

Amon Ghaiumy, the CEO of debt resolution firm Ophelos, is encouraging people to be aware of both the support being provided by the Government and the money they could receive from energy suppliers as well.
