Recently, the Scottish Government confirmed a range of additional funding to help unpaid carers, outside of Carer’s Allowance Supplement.

This extra support includes an extra £3million for local carer centres across the country, £200,000 to grow the Young Carers Package delivered by Young Scot, which provides opportunities and days out for young carers.

Furthermore, an additional £377,000 has been reserved to expand Family Fund support with breaks for parents and families looking after disabled children and young people.

Finally, almost £600,000 is being spent to assist wellbeing support services for young carers looking after people with Dementia.
