Cold Weather Payment to Winter Fuel Payment – three forms of support available | Personal Finance | Finance
Cold Weather Payments depend purely on the weather in one’s area. If the weather is recorded or forecast to be zero degrees or below for seven consecutive days, eligible households will receive £25.
These payments are generally triggered by weather stations and potential recipients can use the postcode checker on the Gov.uk website to see if there have been any payments due for their area.
Due to the nature of the payments, some areas may be triggered multiple times and receive more than £25 in total.
The Braemar station has seen three triggers since the start of the winter so eligible households in the area could be due, or have received, £75 from the DWP.
