According to this, in people with type 2 diabetes, the proportion of self-reported dyspnoea was found to be significant — 15.4 to 25.4% — higher in the incremental body mass index (BMI).

The researchers of the study came to the conclusion that people affected by type 2 diabetes are more likely to get affected by grade 2 dyspnoea and chronic phlegm compared to people of the same age (even if they smoke).
