Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Patch 1.5 Has Secret Easter Eggs That Are Not Available on PS4 and Xbox One Versions of the Game

Pretty much everyone and their mother agreed that Cyberpunk 2077 had an awful launch. Developer CD Projekt Red promised to continue updating and polishing the game over time until it’s in a state that players are happy with. They’ve already taken a some small steps toward their goal with previous bug-fix patches, but this latest patch marked the first major leap forward for Cyberpunk 2077 since release. Patch 1.5 was revealed and released today, and it’s quite a whopper.

The update brings many changes and improvements, you can read the full patch notes here.

However, we are here to focus on one perplexing change: Patch 1.5 brings the long-awaited next-gen console upgrades, meaning PS5 and XSX/XSS players will no longer be forced to play in backward compatibility mode. PC players running older hardware or software may be negatively affected as the game gets upgraded. After June 15, 2022, Windows 7 will no longer be a supported operating system for Cyberpunk 2077 players, the game may outright stop working on the OS due to technical limitations related to DirectX 12.

What does all this mean, you ask? This means that lots of aspects and any new content from the new patch are currently not available for older consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. If the addition of a handful of mini-quests, conversations, NPCs, Easter Eggs (or whatever these secrets are) are going to be a big challenge, what of full-blown expansion packs later on?

Fans and users of older-gen consoles were upset by this, considering how much of a struggle it is to acquire a newer gen console or PCs.

Considering how developer CDPR are struggling to make things to work on last gen devices, it’s very likely any new, significant features will be limited to next gen consoles and PC platforms only. Any free DLCs like the weapons or new gigs will most likely still be available for all platforms, but Expansion packs and Multiplayer will be limited to next gen consoles and PCs only.

Players were excited to see what kind of Easter Eggs the developer would include in the new patch that could be found all over Night City – ranging from nods to other games from the developer to other games and pop culture, but the hopes of older-gen console and PC users were dashed.

Cyberpunk 2077 has several references to Keanu Reeves’ previous films like The Matrix and Johnny Mnemonic, animes like Ghost in the Shell, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Sailor Moon, plenty of The Witcher references like Geralt’s beloved horse Roach is a sensation and Ciri is a fan-favorite. If you purchased the special edition of Cyberpunk 3, you’ll find a version of The Black Unicorn katana in your stash at your apartment, along with a bunch of other Witcher themed clothing.
