‘D–khead’ golfers nearly trampled on track in Great Northern Steeplechase

It doesn’t get much more embarrassing than this.

During the running of the Great Northern Steeplechase at Ellerslie in New Zealand – a few golfers almost caused a massive accident that could have been serious.

Somehow the golfers ended up on the track and had no clue they were in the middle of the track during the race.

One man was seen running for his life as the horses approached and didn’t escape the attention of caller George Simon, who labelled the pair “absolute d–kheads.”

“There are some absolute idiots playing golf on the course proper – can you believe that?!”

“Down towards … you absolute d–kheads! At the first of the stand double …” said a clearly shocked Simon.

Thankfully all runners were able to avoid the wandering wood-swingers, with race favourite Magic Wonder going on to win the contest.
