DC Universe Report Reveals What Franchises Might Continue to Exist; Ezra Miller May Stay on As Flash

As we all know, James Gunn and Peter Safran are new heads for DC Studios, and they are currently planning to reboot the entire universe. And judging by the looks of things, it seems that Gunn and Safran might reboot the universe with The Flash film, which might be following the same strategy as the comics and use the Flashpoint Paradox as a way to bring about a changed world.

We already know that Henry Cavill will not continue as Superman in the new universe. Other reports also suggest that the duo will not be going forward with the third part to the Wonder Woman series. A Batgirl movie starring Leslie Grace was also shelved. Lastly, it has also been understood that Black Adam is not a part of Gunn’s initial DCU plan.

Franchises that may Continue to Exist in DCU Reboot

Now for the franchise that will continue to exist, a report by Variety sheds some light on the topic. It seems that the Shazam franchise will continue to exist in the reboot along with Aquaman. The upcoming Blue Beetle movie and Gunn’s Peacemaker series are slated to stay on too. Matt Reeves’ The Batman franchise does not seem to be at risk, as it remains separate from the DCU.

Many fans are worried how Gunn and Safran are going to pull of the big feat of rebooting the entire DC Universe. They seem to be not going for a complete reboot, as they are reportedly saving some franchises. Fans of the DCU are definitely worried about what lies in the future for their beloved heroes, but at the moment all they can do is to trust Gunn and Safran to do justice to their beloved characters.

Ezra Miller Might Stay on as The Flash

Lastly, it seems that Ezra Miller will continue to dawn the role of the speedster. They were a part of a series of controversies that took place in 2022. But, since then, they have been receiving mental health treatment, and they have managed to not be a part of any other issues. At the moment It has not been confirmed by Gunn himself, but the report suggests that executives are open to letting them continue as The Flash.
