Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar said on Saturday that the women’s IPL will be “excellent” for Indian cricket and the eves have shown much improvement over the years.

“I was sent to Lord’s in 2007 when I was a selector. The Indian women were playing against England for the first time at Lord’s. I was there for a day. I watched them. Since then, I have seen a massive improvement. Now our women’s team are in the top three in the world. It’s good that the IPL for women will happen and they will be able to play alongside the best players in the world. They play the Big Bash as well. They get good money now, same as men. It is very good. I would like to compliment the BCCI for that,” he said at the Meet the Media programme organised by the Mumbai Press Club.
