Discord Integration for PlayStation 5 Set to Arrive in March, 2023.

Discord is an important application for gamers as it helps them communicate with each other and their communities with ease. Recently we learned that Discord Voice Chat will be coming for Xbox Series X/S for Insiders and then will be rolled out to the general public. It seems that PlayStation will also be following the same tactic and has partnered up with Discord to bring the popular application to the PlayStation 5.

Through a tweet from popular industry insider, Tom Henderson, we have learned about the release date for Discord integration in the PlayStation 5 and it seems that we have a long way to go. According to his tweet, the Discord application will not be integrated till Version 7.0 of the PlayStation software, and little do you know that Version 6.0 hasn’t even released yet. Version 6.0 is scheduled to release on September 7, 2022 and Version 7.0 will release almost a year later on March 8, 2023.

As of now there is a decent bit of time left before version 7.0 drops so Discord on PlayStation 5 will have to take a backseat for the time being. However, the players can look forward to the speculated features for version 6.0. PlayStation had announced that beta testers will be testing out features such as 1440p HDMI output, gamelists and other new PlayStation 5 UX enhancements and more social features. A good amount of time has passed since then and it seems that PlayStation is ready to roll out these features to the general public.
