We all benefit from the warmth radiators offer during winter at home. Yet, many of us overlook their aesthetic value and seldom accentuate them in our decor.

However, DIY enthusiast Julia has revealed how she brilliantly spruced up her ‘tired’ white radiator by painting it into a sleek black one.

The astounding interior revamp was showcased on TikTok via the @frenchicpaint account, demonstrating how this slight change radically altered the ambience of the room.

The clip begins with an image of the nondescript white radiator situated in Julia’s hallway prior to the makeover, accompanied by the suggestive words: “One small change…”

The ‘after’ shot unveils a chic, black radiator enhancing the contemporary feel of the hallway, with the words “Makes a huge difference,” emblazoned across the screen.

The remainder of the video outlines the makeover process, showing Julia painting the radiator black and spray-painting its grills outdoors upon a cardboard sheet in the garden to avoid unwanted stains.

Lastly, Julia ornaments the area surrounding the radiator for a complete hallway refresh laying down a rug and placing a candle and a plant atop the shelf above the radiator.

The caption for the video read: “Now is the perfect time to give your radiator the revamp it deserves! Whether you’re looking to add an injection of colour, create a focal point or blend your radiator into your chosen colour scheme, it’s easy with Frenchic.

“Frenchic Fan Julia demonstrates how one small change can make the biggest difference as she transforms her hallway radiator from tired to trendy using our true black shade ‘Blackjack’ from the self priming and self sealing Al Fresco Inside/ Outside Range.”

It continued: “For radiators, we recommend (for a flat matte finish) Al Fresco or Chalk Wall Paint or if (for a subtle satin finish) our Trim Paint range. Almost all modern radiators are powder-coated metal meaning they are suitable for these paints without the need to prime.”

DIY enthusiasts were thrilled with the transformation, as the video garnered hundreds of likes. One admirer called the finished result “lovely”, while another eager viewer who was keen to try the makeover asked: “Omg please tell me how you get those tops off please I’ve got the same ones but don’t how to take top off.”
