Do you plan to cancel Netflix after North American price increase?

0

Netflix announced a price increase for the US and Canada over the weekend, taking place with immediate effect. The increase varies from $1 to $2 in the US, meaning that the basic plan now costs $9.99 a month while the top-end premium plan now costs $19.99 a month.

Canadians won’t see an increase for the basic tier, but the standard plan is now $16.49 ($1.50 increase) and the premium plan will now set you back $20.99 ($2 increase).

Price increases are never welcome, but is this particular hike enough for you to cancel your Netflix subscription? You can let us know via the poll below and leave a comment with your thoughts.

Do you plan to cancel Netflix after the US, Canada price increase?

On the one hand, there are so many streaming services today that it costs a good chunk of cash to subscribe to several of them (let alone all of them). So a price hike on one service can definitely lead budget-conscious people to cancel. A price hike could also lead some people to cancel if they were questioning Netflix’s value proposition to begin with.

Then again, some consumers might not mind a price hike too much if Netflix is the only streaming service they’ve subscribed to or if it’s their favorite service.

Either way, you can vote in the poll above and let us know what you think of this latest increase in the comments.
