The BJP headed for a second straight win in politically crucial Uttar Pradesh and dominated the trends chart in three other states while the Aam Aadmi Party readied for a landslide win in Punjab, the two parties imprinting Elections 2022 with their triumph.

Here are the highlights of the assembly election results:
Uttar Pradesh:

  • From 7 seats and 6% vote share, Congress reduced to 1 seat and 2.4% vote share in UP
  • BJP MLA Pankaj Singh wins Noida with a margin of 179000 votes
  • RLD-SP alliance losing in all 3 Meerut seats

  • Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal loses deposit
  • AAP is set for a landslide victor in Punjab where it is leading in almost 90 seats

Goa:

  • Independent Antonio Vas wins from Cortalim constituency in Goa

  • Viresh Borkar has won from St Andre, Borkar is from the Revolutionary Goans Party
  • Goa CM Pramod Sawant wins from Sanquelim constituency
  • As AAP leads in 2 seats, Arvind Kejriwal says it’s beginning of honest politics in Goa
  • In Goa, Utpal Parrikar has lost by 800 votes to Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate in Panaji

Uttarakhand

  • Congress leader Harish Rawat loses to BJP candidate by over 14,000 votes in Lalkuwa
  • BJP is leading in 44 constituencies with 43.9 percent vote share
  • Harish Rawat is trailing against BJP’s Dr Mohan Singh Bist with a margin of over 14,000 votes.

Manipur

  • CM N Biren Singh wins from Heingang seat by 18,000 votes
  • Nitish Kumar’s JD (U) wins its first Manipur seat in 22 years, leads on 4 more
  • BJP appears set to emerge as single largest party in Manipur
  • BJP is leading in 19 seats, and Chief Minister N Biren Singh is on the verge of winning the Heingang constituency
  • BJP’s candidate Usham Deben Singh defeating Congress rival Md Fajur Rahman by a slender margin of 50 votes in the Wabgai constituency
  • The Congress, which had emerged as the single-largest party, winning 28 seats in the 2017 assembly elections, is currently leading in just three seats.
