Emma Raducanu rehydrates with coconut water after her 6-3, 6-2 win over Tamara Korpatsch in the first round.

Addressing the media post-match, Raducanu was asked if she was drinking straight from a coconut.

“Yeah, it’s so good,” she said told the media.

“I used to hate coconuts until the Australian Open last year, and then I had it and it’s a game changer.”

With the hot temperatures Down Under, Raducanu explained that sipping on coconuts was a “once-a-year” occurrence at the Melbourne major.

Coconut water aids in hydration as the fluid is high in electrolytes, without the added sugars and flavourings generally found in sports drinks.
