Everton manager Sean Dyche raged on the sideline after Abdoulaye Doucoure received a red card for striking Harry Kane in the face during Monday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur. The crunch meeting at Goodison Park blew up in the second half, leaving Dyche furious.

At the climax of a nervy opening 60 minutes, Kane went in strong on Demarai Gray, prompting the Everton boss and his staff to call for a foul in the aftermath.

Doucoure and Kane both tried to kick the ball after referee David Coote blew his whistle, which the former didn’t take kindly to.

He then pushed Kane out of the way as the England captain responded by pulling his shirt, almost to attempt to keep his balance.

Doucoure lost his head at the reaction, striking the No 10 with his left arm before Dyche pulled him away.

Dyche then gestured to Kavanagh and the fourth official that Kane has simulated, but his pleas were ignored as the Toffees midfielder was given his marching orders.

Nothing more came from the scuffle before the game resumed as both sides searched for an opening goal that would carry big implications at each end of the Premier League table.

Less than 10 minutes later, Kane, of all people, breached the hosts’ defence from the penalty spot.

After a late challenge inside the box, Kavanagh pointed to the spot, and Kane made no mistake, netting his 22nd league goal of the season.
