“I hate to say that but they can turn round and say ‘yes we’re behind the manager’ and this and that, but talk is cheap and unfortunately the performances that the players have been putting over the recent few months have clearly been lacking in terms of where Everton should be.

“The result at the weekend, if I’ve got to be honest as an Everton fan, was anyone surprised by it? No.

“And we’re talking about a team [Norwich] that is inevitably looking like they’re going to potentially go down.

“But the big thing for myself and every Everton fan out there is you’re watching the team and on occasions there’s a real lack of fight, and there’s a real lack of desire.

“I look around the team and struggle to see who are the ones who are going to roll their sleeves up and get Everton out of this.”
