Every Outrageous Cameo Rumored for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

0

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next major project in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be a major event movie with more emphasis on multiversal characters.

Before the MCU kicked into high gear, Marvel had tons of live-action characters from the world of X-Men, Blade and many more, and the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel will pay homage to both live action and comic book iterations of everyone’s favorite characters.

This means that fans might see the return of many iconic live actions characters along with new ones as well. So who will make an appearance in the MCU with the Doctor Strange sequel. Here are some of the most popular rumors.

(Fans might want to take this list with a grain of salt as these are rumors and major spoilers as well.)

Tom Cruise as Iron Man

One of the biggest news of the year so far has been the rumored appearance of Hollywood star Tom Cruise, who might play a variant of iconic superhero, Iron Man.

The actor had been approached to play the character before Robert Downey Jr. took the mantle in Iron Man. However, new rumors suggest that Cruise will finally get his chance to play the role in the upcoming movie.

John Krasinski as Reed Richards

John Krasinski's horror sequel has taken the Memorial Day weekend slot.

Ever since Fantastic Four was announced at SDCC 2019, fans have prepared tons of fan cast for the movie, and most of them have the Office star John Krasinski as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic.

A ton of rumors have revealed that Krasinski will play a variant of the character in the movie, and it will be interesting to see if he will play the role in the Jon Watts-directed movie as well.

Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X

We're also intrigued by the possibilities involved in having Professor Xavier active in the MCU. Beyond being the erstwhile leader of the X-Men, Xavier was (up until his death in 2012's Avengers vs. X-Men) a member of the Illuminati. This shadowy group of Marvel power players also includes the likes of Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Doctor Strange, Namor and Black Bolt, with the goal of using their powers, influence and resources to defend Earth from threats too dark and dangerous to tackle in the open. That seems like a great launching point in the aftermath of Avengers 4.

Following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, fans have patiently waited for the X-Men’s arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the Doctor Strange sequel set to blow the doors to the multiverse, who better to introduce fans to the X-Men than Sir Patrick Stewart who played Charles Xavier aka Professor X in the original franchise.

Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man

1. Spider-Man 2

Upon its release, Spider-Man 2 became the new superhero movie by which all others would be judged. The film pit the web-slinger against Doctor Octopus, who was given his own emotional journey from Peter’s mentor to supervillain. But the movie also encompasses Spider-Man in a way no other Spidey movie has, showing the character’s true struggle with being a hero and being a man, inspiring hope in the city and sacrificing his own happiness. It’s a complex journey for every single character involved, and it’s all balanced with utterly thrilling action sequences. This is a Spider-Man movie that delivers on every level, and it’s yet to be topped.

Following his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems like Tobey Maguire’s run as Peter Parker has not ended as he’s slated to return for the Doctor Strange sequel.

The movie might shed more light on his life as Spider-Man along with this relationship with MJ, and it will be interesting to see what role he might have in the upcoming movie,

Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter

Hayley Atwell Would Love a Peggy Carter Marvel Movie

Following her role as Peggy Carter in the Captain America franchise, Hayley Atwell has continued the character’s story in Marvel’s Netflix show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

However, Atwell’s rumored live action return in the Doctor Strange sequel will be a bit different as she might take up the mantle of Captain Carter, a role she recently played in Marvel’s animated Disney+ show, What If…?

Teyonah Parris as Captain Marvel

The Birth of Photon? - Episode 5 (8:35) - There appears to be something wrong with Monica Rambeau's scans and blood work after her time in Westview, could this be a mistake, or a hint that powers could be in her future.

Teyonah Parris made her first appearance in the MCU as Monica Rambeau in Wandavision, and she’s soon set to reprise her role in The Marvels, which will release in 2023.

However, before she returns to the screen possibly as Spectrum, Parris might have a role in the Doctor Strange sequel where she will play the role of a variant Captain Marvel.
