It seems like an official announcement for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be happening in the upcoming Ubisoft Forward showcase this month as the first image from the title has been apparently leaked.
A Rainbow Six Siege leaker and dataminer recently shared an image from an Assassin’s Creed game which the source claims to be Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The image showcases art for a possible post-launch DLC or special mission for Assassin’s Creed Mirage which is called The Forty Thieves Quest.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft officially revealed that its studios have started working on Assassin’s Creed Infinity as a new massive project in the series that will feature online-focused elements and transitions between different worlds. Soon after that, it was reported by a number of credible insiders that Ubisoft is also preparing a smaller-scale Assassin’s Creed title that will be focused on the series’ original stealth-based gameplay rather than the recent RPG orientation.
A few weeks earlier, a YouTuber leaked some information about the next Assassin’s Creed game, and Bloomberg reported Jason Schreier backed a part of the information by claiming that his sources have confirmed it.
Apparently, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in Baghdad, and as you can see the main protagonist in the image, seem to wear an outfit much similar to the Assassin’s Creed protagonists from the earlier entries of the franchise rather than that of Eivor or Cassandra.
Hopefully, a Ubisoft Forward showcase will go live on September 10, during which we will learn more about the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Aside from Assassin’s Creed Mirage announcement which seems obvious, we might also get our first look at Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is the next big thing for the series.
As the leaks suggest, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is expected to come out in Spring 2023. It’s yet to be seen who would be the new protagonist in the game, and whether we would be able to see some legendary characters such as Altair regarding the location of the new game.
