Free Fire Max to Shut Down After March 21 in Select Countries; All You Need to Know

Battle Royale titles have become the biggest craze in the mobile gaming industry. Out of the bunch that have released recently, only few titles have been able to shine in India. This includes BGMI, Garena Free Fire, and Call of Duty Mobile. Out of them, 2 were banned in the country in early 2022. Garena then released a lite version of their game called Free Fire Max, which soon became the popular ‘go to’ option in the country too.

However, through recent revelations it seems that the developers have decided on letting go of the lite version of the title. Through a report by Gemwire.GG, we have learned that Garena Free Fire Max will be discontinued from March 21, 2023. So far, only players in Brazil have been served with this notice, and we still do not know how it will impact the game’s availability in India.

The reason behind the discontinuation stems from the publisher’s need to provide all their attention and focus on the original version of Free Fire.

This revelation could be worrying for many players, as Free Fire Max was their only option for fans of the series, after Free Fire was banned in the country. Indian players will be hoping that the lite version of the game remains in the country as long as possible. At the moment, no information about the game’s future in India has been revealed, and it remains available to download on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
