Fujifilm has launched XF10 a premium fixed lens compact camera having a good 24.2MP APS-C sensor with a primary colour filter a considerably higher in resolution from its successor X70.
The XF10 weighs only 280 grams which again is an improvement from the successor. It is capable of 4K video which provides with 15 frames per second which disappoints. In addition recording of videos of fast-moving subjects in slow motions is present and works as High-Speed HD Video Function but the function would require UHS Speed Class 3 or higher memory card.
For transferring photo and videos Bluetooth LE has been given which work with ‘Fujifilm Camera Remote’ app.
In the XF10 Fujifilm has used proprietary colour reproduction technology. Wide angle 18.5 mm Fujinon Fixed lens with a f/2.8 maximum aperture with works in Digital Tele Converter function to use 35mm and 50 mm of focal length.
The XF10 comes with a 3-inch touchscreen on which you have to rely to compose and check photos and videos. Battery which is a lithium polymer battery is enough for 330 photographs.
The XF10 owns ‘square mode’ providing an option to the user of 1:1 aspect ratio suitable for Instagram-ready shots. In addition to this 11 variations of Film Simulation Modes and 19 variations of Advanced Filters are present.
In the XF10 there is no tilt screen, flash hotshoe or aperture ring while the control scheme is entirely different as the XF10 uses PASM dial instead of dedicated controls for each exposure parameter and rear D-pad has been removed.
With all the features it will go on sale in the US around August this year at a price $499.95 (approximately Rs. 34,500).
