Google Allo Service will be Shutting Down Today

0

Back in December 2018, Google announced that they will be shutting down it Google Allo service and its related app on March 12. Now, the day is here. Today, Google will officially finish its Allo service from the web and all its associated data will be wiped off. Google Allo was launched back in 2016 but it didn’t gain much popularity. This is the reason behind the pulling back of this service by Google after three years of its launch.

But before removing the app and its associated data completely, Google has given one last chance to its users to backup their data. To help its users, Google has laid out some easy steps to follow to save your data from the chat history including messages and media like photos and images.

To download your data from Allo app, you must have the latest version of the Allo installed on your device. If you have, just continue on to the Menu then tap on the Setting option. There you’ll find a Chat option. Just tap on it and you will see two options called Export messages from chats and Export stored media from chats. Both of these options work differently in their own manner. The “Exports Message” option will save only your text messages in the CSV extension while the “Export Media” option will save all your photos in ZIP form.

In case, you have taken your chats backup on Google Drive or on iCloud, then restore it on your Allo app and follow the same procedure given above. As Google noted on their support page that they will wipe up all the personal chats and media after March 12. So, if you have your personal data on Allo do remember to save it now before it went to infinity.
