Google and Huawei agree to pay for faulty Nexus 6P devices to the users

Nexus 6P users have found a Bootloop issue and sued on the companies regarding the same. Today, Google and Huawei have settled the class action lawsuit and agree to pay $400 to each user of the Nexus 6P smartphone. This settlement will cost the companies up to $9.75 Million.

The Nexus 6P smartphone users have filed a class action lawsuit and has been in the work since April 2017. After 2 years of legal actions, the companies have to settle this down and officially declared that they will pay $400 to each user of the Nexus 6P smartphones.

The legal hearing of this case is on May 9 and if the court approves this settlement, then the customers who have bought the Nexus 6P smartphone on or after Septmber 25, 2015 will be eligible for the device refurbishment or will get $400 for the same.

According to lawsuit, the companies have breached the warranty of the Nexus 6P smartphone which is the reason why pretty much all the users have faced the bootloop issue on the device.

The lawsuit’s documents also state that users who have purchased this device on or after September 25, 2015 will be able to get $400 on a faulty device. There are some users who have replaced this device with Google’s Pixel XL device in return.

This is yet another class action lawsuit on the Android-related devices. If we talk about the previous case, LG had to pay $425 per user regarding the same class action issue on their premium devices.

In the Janurary 2018, LG’s number of devices including G4, V10, V20, Nexus G5 and Nexus 5X have received the same class action lawsuit by the consumers. As mentioned above, LG had to settle this lawsuite by paying $425 or $700 as a rebate on the respective devices.

At present, Google and Nexus have agreed to settle this case of class action for the Nexus 5 users. There’s no any official hearing made by the courts regarding this issue. We should learn more about this case on the date of its official hearing on May 9.
